Meet Dr. David A. Walker DDS MS    FRCD(C) Dip ABOMS  Dip NDBA

Dr. Walker received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto and completed a four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985 and a Master of Science in 1986 . Dr. Walker is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr Walker has extensive experience in dental implants and bone grafting procedures and has published in these areas.Dr. Walker has been a staff Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Implant Prosthodontic Clinic Faculty of Dentistry University of Toronto from 1998 – 2012 and was an Assistant professor 1997-2004.Dr. Walker was principle investigator in a distraction osteogenesis research project at University of Toronto and has lectured internationally and published 28 articles and four book chapters. Dr. Walker was Chief Examiner Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (National Specialty Certification Examination) 2002 – 2008 and Dr. Walker was President of the Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 1996-1997.

Dr Walker has  served on the Editorial Board of the Ontario Dentist journal as section head Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2001 and in 2012 was appointed Chairman of the Editorial Board.Dr Walker was the founding President of the Canadian Dental Society of Anesthesiology 2006 and is currently Executive Director of this organization.

Dr. Walker is a staff OMFS  at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto was  staff at Toronto General Hospital for 18 years until department closure, and has maintained a successful private practice in Toronto over the last 28 years.
